“Sports Yoga with Paulette is a key part of my training programme, it provides me with valuable flexibility and strength and also helps me to focus on my goals. I would highly recommend sports yoga for any athlete looking to improve both their physical and mental performance”

Triathlons are among the most demanding multi-sport endurance events being held today. From the starting line to the finishing line , there are no breaks or stoppages unless the athlete suffers from injury or mental exhaustion. Triathletes use all major muscle groups , sometime overusing them and under using minor muscles. This can lead to imbalance and shortening of muscles and remember Tight muscles will get you nowhere. If you are doing a lot of running or cycling, it is common that you would suffer from tight hamstrings and stiffness in the legs, ranging from the foot up to the gluteus maximus, This can cause different problems for instance the iliotibial band syndrome. Cyclists and swimmers suffer from tightness in the thoracic spine . Breathing is also a vital component of triathlons therefore it is important to maximize your lung capacity. Breathing techniques can be also used for mental focus at that crucial race point when you feel like quitting. The Sportsyoga workshop for triathlons is a three hour workshop which allows you to explore the benefits of introducing sportsyoga into your training. So set your goal early in 2013 for your triathlon training and whether it is improved mobility/flexibility in your body, increased endurance/vitality/stamina or aiming to beat your PB, this workshop is for you…. See you on January 6th.
